So here is my first official outfit post. With my dress from StyleStalker, white jellies and thick-framed sunglasses, I though this would be the perfect attire for a few snapshots in the city. I hope you like...

Nina Grabic shoot

You might remember a few posts ago that I walked for Nina Grabic's grad show...well I had the pleasure of wearing her gorgeous Beauty of Pain collection inspired by artist Frida Kahlo again earlier this week. Here's a sneak preview...

The colours are gorgeous and I'm in love with her prints. Watch out for this up and coming Perth designer!

On the same day after the shoot and my studio assessment, I also had the pleasure of wearing my wonderfully talentened classmates body...check out Cassandra Pittard'a garments. Also inspired by Comme de Garçon, Cass has  produced two amazing pieces resembling the-uncommon for comme de Garçon- bright colours and bold prints seen in the 2012 spring collection...

Studio garment=complete

I had my studio assessment a few days ago- a two piece body inspired by the amazing Comme De Garçon. Here is the result....
White, distressed and raw was my chosen aesthetic and I'm very pleased with my result. Modelled by the lovely Laura Liy ✨

Brands exclusive

Since my new fashion resolution (previous post), I've been trying to source some reputable websites for their good quality, fair trade, natural fabrics etc etc. one I've been I formed about its Brands exclusive and it is truley fabulous. Too quality labels for fantastic prices and lots of 100% cotton products from labels such as fluXuS. If you re interested, you might want to check out www.brandsexclusive.com.au and recolveclothing.com.au for fluXuS ;-)

Environmentally conscious fashion choices ;-)

After watching a documentary recently for a design assessment, my perception of fashion and consumerism was completely challenged. Going through the steps from: extraction➡️Production➡️Selling➡️Consumerism➡️Disposal, it touched on some if the major envruinmental impacts it has and the affects it has on not only the global economy but that of small communities. I've decided that from now on I must make more of an effort to be environmentally conscious when it comes to my fashion choices and so for the second part of my assessment I produced a little denim clutch made completely out if recyslced chambray and denim items. Check it out...

Also...if you wanted to check out this 20 minute vid, it'd be well worth your time. Do your piece for the environment and for fashion ladies and gents ;-) ... thestoryofstuff.org/

The Butcher and the Crow

Is anyone else completely mad about Local Perth label The Butcher and the crow??? Shibori and silk is definitely the way to my heart I was so close to buying this little beauty the other day ..

CIT advanced Diploma Grad show ✨

On the fourth November, I had the amazing opportunity to model in our third years grad show. After three years of hard work, they're collections came together beautifully. Nina Grabic was the designer I walked for. Her collection was The Beauty of pain and inspired by artist Frida kahlo; consisted if bold colourful prints of oranges and purples on layered garments. Check out her site http://ninagrabic.wix.com/portfolio . Another one to watch is Ella De Thierry, winner of both the Potters and Rusty awards, her bold aztec garments were among my favourite- http://elladethierry.wix.com/portfolio or check out her Instagram Ella De Thierry :-)

Perth Fashion Festival-Jaime Lee

Last night was my first shift at PFF and it was such an amazing experience...everything you'd expect a fashion show to be- models everywhere, flustered gay men, stressy designers and the clothes. The gorgeous clothes! We dressed the Jaime Lee models first and I have to say, what an amazing collection...taking her inspiration from gothic architecture she came out with some awe inspiring pieces. Stained glass window prints And hand sewn beads were among them. Check it out...

The alternative

You might remember a few weeks ago I posted a pic of the new Oroton neon Barrel bag...well I've found a gorgeous alternative for only $49.95 in Portmans (I love my job) because let's be honest, we don't all have $500 to spend on bags all the time (if only)?. Have a peak...

Work

Portmans- girl on top

The other half of the birthday

So apart from being treated like a queen on my birthday, my best friend also made the weekend fantastic! We drove down to Fremantle, she booked a night for us in the lovely ridges esplanade hotel and we did the Fremantle prison tunnel tours, explored the markets and had a yummy pub lunch ..gotta love Rosie o'gradys (minus the sleezy men ..who incidentally bought most of our drinks for the night).

So you've obviously guessed that we also went out for the night too ;-)

Tranquility

So last Sunday was my birthday and one of the presents from my man was a two hour massage at the luxury Onyesha pinelake spa! And might I say it was amazing! Set amongst the pine trees and next to a lake, it is the epitomy of peace and tranquility. My body just floated away and after my treatment, I was taken down to a conservatory which looked out over the lake as the sun started to set and sipped cherry blossom green tea. I felt like a princess ❤ get yourselves there ASAP!!!

Just not worth a post

There will be no outfit blog today because I look awful :-p mismatching colours, mismatching pattern. It's an all round fashion faux-pass kinda day 🙊

It's a wrap ✂👗

In studio we were given the task of creating a somewhat avant-grade garment in very limited time. After many hours at the sewing machine and 186 pleats later, this was the end result....

More spending

The way I look at it is do what makes you happy and if spending money makes you happy then do it...regardless of whether the light bill is due or you're driving on an empty tank :-). I needed the trousers more. Simple.
